Mario Ibáñez

“Coach Mario” has been coaching soccer for 25 years. He has spent his entire coaching career serving the Pflugerville community by volunteering his time as a coach first with PAYSL PFAST (Pflugerville Area Select Teams), Revolution SC (RRSA+PAYSL joint select program), and with Pflugerville FC. He has coached both boys and girls, ages 7-18 at D2, S2, and D1 levels. His favorite part of coaching is making a positive impact during the developmental years of our community’s youth; and creating positive, useful, and memorable experiences while developing soccer and non-soccer skills.

During his time playing in his teen years and various adult leagues, he was a Goalkeeper and Defender.

Coach Mario is originally from El Paso, Texas. He is a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force where he dedicated 11 years before settling in Pflugerville, TX with his wife and 4 children in the year 2000. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology from the University of Central Florida, and a Master’s degree in Information Systems from St Mary’s University in San Antonio; and he works in the computer and telecommunications industry.
