Courtney has played soccer for 38 years and coached for 8. He currently holds his Class D license. He coached select (U14 boys) and Young Olympians in Arizona. Courtney trained with the US National team coaches and keepers. He was an Arizona All-State Keeper and played at Scottsdale Community College. In addition, Courtney played semi-pro for The Verde Valley Rough Riders.
