Recently, PAYSL sadly lost a member of its PFC family. 16-year old Aaliyah Martinez was a beloved member of Pflugerville FC’s 05G Blue team who tragically passed away on October 4th. She started at PAYSL in 2014 at nine years old and had stayed with PAYSL since. She is remembered as a star striker and scored many goals for her team. This fall, she played forward for her team and was made honorary player of the week shortly after her death.

A moment of silence was held in honor of Martinez on October 9th.

Both the 05G Green and 05G Blue teams honored her on the weekend of October 9th with a moment of silence before both their games. Her classmates and peers also celebrated her at a Hutto High School football game, where she attended school.

A Celebration of Life memorial for Aaliyah will be held on Saturday, October 23rd, at Fellowship Church in Hutto.
