Register to coach

All of our coaches are required to complete a background check before they can be a head coach, assistant coach, or a team manager. Once you’ve completed the background check, your age group VP will be in contact and after registration ends they will begin forming your roster. If you have any questions, reach out to your VP.

Game RESCHEDULES

Coaches may request for their games to be rescheduled with our Referee Assignor, Floyd Melton. Our ability to grant your request will depend on the age and level of play, and the timing of the request.

4U–6U

These are purely internal leagues and reschedules can usually be accommodated. From the schedule page, find the opposing coach’s contact info and agree on a new date. Sunday afternoons often have available field space. Send an email to Floyd@paysl.org, copying the opposing coach, and request the game be moved. This request must be sent at least 7 days in advance, otherwise the game will go on as a cancellation and will not be rescheduled.

7U–8U

This age group is mostly internal PAYSL teams, but it also includes teams from Wells Branch & Fierce. From the schedule page, find the opposing coach’s contact info and agree on a new date. Send an email to floyd@paysl.org, copying the opposing coach, and request the game be moved. This request must be sent at least 7 days in advance, otherwise the game will go on as a cancellation and will not be rescheduled.

9U–10U

This age group includes Recreational teams from PAYSL, Wells Branch, Georgetown, and Sting.

11U+

These leagues organized and scheduled directly with the Capital Area Youth Soccer Association (CAYSA). Requests must be submitted to them here.

WHERE TO PRACTICE

Coaches can decide the day, time and location for their team’s practices to make it as convenient as possible. Here’s some ideas for where you could practice.

PARKS

Many Neighborhood HOAs have a small park or field space where and often times you can request to use it for free. Also, Pflugerville city parks are a great option for practice space. Often times other coaches are also trying to find practice space and the city does not take reservations. It’s usually a first come, first served arrangement.

SCHOOLS

Many local PfISD elementary and middle schools have fields that are open for the public to use after school hours (and assuming the school isn’t planning to use it). Middle schools may have after school practices and other extracurricular uses for the fields so it’s recommended you contact the school to confirm its availability. They also don’t take reservations, so coaches often just show up and hope to secure some space. If another coach is already there, you may need to work out which days and times you’re using it to make it work.

RESERVE PRACTICE SPACE WITH PAYSL

We also allow teams to reserve dedicated practice space at PAYSL fields. Age groups 6U and below are able to reserve fields space for free on a first come, first served basis. You can contact your VP or submit your request online here. Coaches may split a field in half with another coach if two are interested in the same time slot, but it will be your space every week.

For age groups 7U and above, there is a $10/player field reservation fee charged to each team who wants to practice at Wells Point Park. A team may pay this fee online and then reserve a specific time slot to use for the full season. Depending on availability, you may share one field with another team, each taking half. Some coaches even combine their teams to practice together or scrimmage against each other. If you have not reserved a day and time you are not allowed to practice at Wells Point Park.
