Vice President: 7U–8U Boys

This position is the first point of contact for parents and coaches of boys in Recreational Soccer at the 7U–8U age group. At this age, the girls and boys teams are divided on different teams so this is like supporting four different divisions. Your job is to recruit coaches, form teams, answer parent questions, and resolve problems. You partner with the EVP Lower Division, Registrar, Academy EVP, and other Recreational VPs to help get each season off to a great start. The perfect person for this position is someone who is responsive via email, able to problem solve, and an effective communicator via email. You are the voice of the league to your parents and coaches, and you care about their playing experience at PAYSL. You always strive to provide the highest quality soccer experience for your age groups. Soccer coaching or playing experience is a bonus, but not required. Vice President: Select Boys

This position is the first contact for all Select boys coaches, team managers, and parents. This includes all 11U-19U teams playing in CAYSA Division II to WDDOA Division 1. Also includes incoming Academy 10U teams. Person in this position works hand in hand with the Select Girls VP while reporting to the Select Director and EVP Select. Responsibilities include weekly check in and at minimum creating/running once a month meetings with team managers and coaches. Also hold seasonal meetings with individual teams including check ins and Select Boys updates. Create relationships with new incoming 11U coaches, team managers, parents from the Academy program. Host one meeting towards the end of the Academy spring season with all boys parents in 10U Academy so they are well prepared for what is expected in Select. Create working relationships with the 11U–19U Boys Recreation coaches for recruiting purposes. With the Select Girls VP, create contacts and relationships with local high schools and middle schools. Work with the Academy EVP to create and coordinate a PFC night at the local high schools. Work with local colleges/pro teams about having a PFC night (i.e. UT, Austin Bold, Austin FC, Houston Dash). After each game day find out all players that made the 'team of the week' via team managers. Help coordinate college showcases/recruiting for players in the older age divisions. The position also requires coordination with the PAYSL Registrar for uniforms and registration. You’re in charge of maintaining teams in GotSoccer and assists players with profiles for recruiting purposes. Person for this role needs to be energetic, have excellent communication and organization skills. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.

 

Merchandise Coordinator

This position manages the web store on paysl.org, including inventory, orders with vendors, communication with customers, and fulfillment of orders. The perfect person for this position would be organized, a good communicator, and comfortable working on a computer and/or smartphone. Graphic design skills are a bonus, but definitely not required. PAYSL President

This position is the face of the PAYSL and Pflugerville FC soccer club, overseeing all levels of play and setting a vision for where we’re headed. You are the point person in contact with the City of Pflugerville, key contractors, and Board EVPs to ensure the club is set up for success now and in the future. You lead monthly Board meetings, and work to empower your EVPs, VPs, and Coordinators so they can effectively handle their jobs. You are the final decision maker in all disputes and are responsible for how money budgeted and spent. The perfect person for this is someone who has served on the Board for 2+ years and has an understanding how the league functions currently. This person should be an excellent organizer of people, inspiring them to deliver the best results and stepping in to serve in any way that’s needed. Vice President: 6U

This position is the first point of contact for parents and coaches in Recreational Soccer at the 6U age group. Even though this is only managing one, co-ed age group, this is the largest age group in the club. Your job is to recruit first-time coaches, form teams, answer parent questions, and resolve problems. You partner with the EVP Lower Division, Registrar, Academy EVP, and other Recreational VPs to help get each season off to a great start. There is big emphasis on encouraging and supporting parents to step up and coach who have no previous playing or coaching experience The perfect person for this position is someone who is responsive via email, able to problem solve, and an effective communicator via email. You are an energetic and welcoming presence to parents and players who are trying organized soccer for the first time. You are the voice of the league to your parents and coaches, and you care about their playing experience at PAYSL. You always strive to provide the highest quality soccer experience for your age groups. Soccer coaching or playing experience is a bonus, but not required. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.

 

Academy Director

This position is the training and technical lead for the Pflugerville FC Academy program. You are in charge of Academy coaches, providing them training sessions and practice content per the curriculum. Running 2 training sessions per week for at least 1 hour 15 min each with the team coach assisting. Run pool training sessions for all of the combined Academy players every 2 weeks, or at least once a month. Each season, you organize and facilitate Academy Observations to place players and answer parent questions. Additionally, you will plan and execute Academy camps for players to attend twice each year. Success for this position looks like a growing number of players in the program, players staying in the program and ultimately graduating up to Select, parents who love and support the program, and coaches who develop into Select level coaches. The perfect fit for this position is someone who loves the game and has a passion for training younger players and coaches. This person has a vast knowledge of the game, a Class D license or better from US Soccer, and is an effective communicator. This is a paid contract position.

 

Executive Vice President of Operations

This position oversees the functioning of Recreational Soccer, Academy, Select, and Administrative positions and works to make sure things are executing smoothly. They coordinate with the President, EVP of Finance, EVPs, and Administrative positions to make sure all parties are working together effectively. The perfect person for this position would be someone who has been with the club for years and served on the PAYSL Board for at least 1 year, who is motivated to improve how it functions. This person should be well organized, an effective communicator, and strong problem solver. When there’s a gap, you are stepping up to fill in, or to coordinate with others to make sure things go as planned. Success for you is seeing few parent, coach, or Board member complaints about the club being disorganized or sloppy. You run a tight ship, and set high expectations for the club’s

Executive Vice President of Finance

This position controls the budget, expenses, reimbursements, and tax preparation for all of PAYSL. You coordinate with our accounting vendor, the President, and EVPs to ensure the club is fiscally sound and prepared for the unexpected. The perfect person for this is someone with some financial expertise, either professionally or personally, who is organized, disciplined, and reliable. They have served on the PAYSL Board for at least 1 year and understand how the organization currently functions. Success for this position is building a financially healthy club that offers a competitively priced soccer experience, quality equipment and facilities, and a balance sheet with cash reserves to weather the unexpected. Editor, The Pitch

This position writes content for The Pitch, our blog for news and updates around the club. This position is in charge of gathering information, writing posts, adding photos/videos, and coordinating with the Web Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator to promote the content. The perfect person for this is a competent writer, dependable to complete tasks on time, who’s interested in promoting the club and making sure parents have all the latest information.

 

Vice President: 4U–5U

This position is the first point of contact for parents and coaches in Recreational Soccer at the 4U–5U age group. These co-ed age groups have been a steadily growing part of the club. Your job is to recruit first-time coaches, form teams, answer parent questions, and resolve problems. You partner with the EVP Lower Division, Registrar, and other Recreational VPs to help get each season off to a great start. There is big emphasis on encouraging and supporting parents to step up and coach who have no previous playing or coaching experience. The perfect person for this position is someone who is responsive via email, able to problem solve, and an effective communicator via email. You are an energetic and welcoming presence to parents and players who are trying organized soccer for the first time. You are the voice of the league to your parents and coaches, and you care about their playing experience at PAYSL. You always strive to provide the highest quality soccer experience for your age groups. All board positions are expected to attend the monthly board meetings (in-person or virtually) and also required to serve 3-5 shifts per season as an Officer on Duty at the fields on game days (training provided). Soccer coaching or playing experience is a bonus, but not required. We need people with all kinds of different skills to run a quality, well-organized club. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.

 

Vice President: Academy

NOTE: The name of this position is pending a proposal to change from the Academy Coordinator to the Vice President: Academy. The Academy VP is responsible for assisting the EVP and Director. Tasks include recruiting, forming teams, organizing the teams in GotSoccer. The VP will handle uniforms ordering and getting uniforms to the individuals. One of the main responsibilities of the Academy VP is to communicate with CAYSA other leagues to build the team schedules in the agreed upon fashion, home or away.  This includes arranging friendlies when games are needed.  Assist the director in planning, scheduling, and running pool training and observations.  Communication is a must for this position as you assist the parents after observations in getting the players registered, uniforms ordered, and coaches/parents notified of incoming players.  A US Soccer Class D license is recommended, but not required. The league will reimburse you if you pursue getting your D license. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.
