The City of Pflugerville's Parks & Recreation department has been busy lately delivering some much needed upgrades to the parks we play at. Here are the recent changes that have been made.
Wells Point Park
New Shade Canopies
PAYSL originally installed these shade canopies, but the fabric covers eventually wore out, ripped, and were removed. Now we have placed new, green canopies on them, which makes for a shaded, cool concession area especially for those hot summer days.
Light Tower Repairs
Light tower repairs on Fields 1 and 3 are coming soon! The City will be replacing bulbs, re-angling light fixtures, and also reworking the switches and timers so that they can be locked and out of reach of unauthorized users.
1849 Park
Upgraded Entrance
Recently, we've been using an alternate gate because the main area was persistently muddy and eroding away. The City has now poured a concrete slab around the entrance area and added a lot of new dirt and sod to help level and spruce it up. In the coming week, we hope to be using our main entrance once again.
Pfennig Park
New fields for our teams
Pfennig Park has been used on Saturdays this season for our 4U–6U teams. So far, it’s been a success and has given us some much needed field and parking capacity at Wells Point Park.
We hope you will continue to visit our fields to see these new upgrades. Thank you to Pflugerville Parks & Recreation for your assistance in enhancing our fields!
